Thanks for your concern! I'm not sure on the composition of the grate, but it is sold here in Japan for grilling use, usually used in the open air directly over a charcoal or gas fire, so I'm not worried about that. (Given the amount of yakiniku I eat, if it was a problem, I'd have been dead...
