Got the handle mocked up. Just gotta make the time to finish this soon. Welding it to the frame instead of the tank end...nothing special. After this, I will swap the tires/casters to opposite ends.
It's just a pic of what food you're smokin that's all. I liked your handle location idea and got the handle I made and mounted it up to the legs. I'm not done with it yet because I ran outta time. I'll post a pic in my thread.
You got some skills! That cooker looks great! I'm still waiting on a day off to smoke mine. I like the idea of your big wheels on the FB end and a handle on the other. I need to make that adjustment on mine when time permits. Mobility matters when these things weigh what they do! Post pics...
Thanks for the advice! That thought did cross my mind. Now that you've mentioned it, I could still go with the idea but leave the lid completely off the barrel but keep outdoors and within my sunroom I guess...I prolly don;t need to go overboard with the quantity though.

Hauled home a truck load of "FREE" fresh sweet gum yesterday to cut and season, only to find out that this wood is not "recommended" for food use....but nothing online justifies why??? Oh well I guess. If...
Added a few structural spars today since I got to come home early and go shopping @ Tractor Supply Co. Picked me up some other goodies for my Echo...
And her it is....stowed properly in the garage where it belongs!
Just under $500 and that included the seperate purchase of the tank. There is a side fire box at Academy for $999 and it's made of the same thickness of metal...half the size of mine....and twice the cost! That's the way I'm looking at it.
The builder uses these smaller stacks because he smokes at higher temps (265/285 degrees) and it's easliy regulated....That was the first thing I asked about when I got there to pick it up.
Thanks for the response! I google searched an image of the discription you mentioned and I absolutely agree with the idea of having the big wheels on the fire box end and casters on the other side....weld a large handle to the left side of the smoker and wa-la...a better moving smoker! That...
Just gotta get a free weekend to oil it up and dry smoke it for a few hours!
I do have a few things that I still one to do to it. I want to add a bottom "rack/tray" to store my fire wood and I want to weld up a big handle so I can have something solid to grab onto to move it to and from the...
