How old is your GFCI outlet? If it's 7 to 10 years old you might find that it's the outlet itself that's actually failing. They tend to wear out if they're under load regularly over time and the symptom is usually that will trip sooner than usual. I have the same issue with a GFCI that was...
I'm not expecting them to be doing the same sale three years later. It's not unheard of for companies to do sales around the holidays so that's what I was asking. It doesn't sound like Rec Tec does. Secondarily I was wondering if anyone has seen them selling refurbs or used devices. It stands to...
Done. Do you happen to recall what the price was by chance? I'll see if I can find the refurb post back in 2017 if you can't but it would be quicker if you recalled.
I think I've narrowed my search for my GMG DB WiFi replacement to the RT-700.
$1200 is a chunk of change so I'm wondering if they do holiday sales or anything like that that anyone has seen. I'm not in a hurry as my GMG DB works fine and mostly meets my needs. I'd like to wait for a good...
I do have a VPN and certainly could connect it that way but I guess my point is that I shouldn't have to. I have a very long list of clients on my home network and every time I make one small change each of those takes times to re-provision which has slowly evolved into a massive undertaking...
I can monitor temps and adjust them for the most part with mine now. GMG's implementation of "server mode" is unreliable & clunky to say the least. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to start a new cook remotely with GMG's software as it's currently constituted.
tldr; Will the RT software allow you to power on and pre-heat the smoker from a network other than the one it's on?
I have a GMG DB WiFi currently and while the WiFi feature is nice, it's woefully under featured IMO. One of the primary reasons I wanted WiFi was so I could power up and pre-heat...
This was one of the big reasons I "upgraded" from a MES30 to a GMG DB WiFi. I can now get an entire packer brisket on my GMG DB with room to spare. It's not as care-free as my MES30 and I've had lots of issues plus it's a lot more expensive to operate and takes up more space but I still...
"As a conscientious neighbor"
Uhmm... no.
A conscientious neighbor wouldn't run a smoker with hobbled together vent components on a wooden covered patio in a shared structure living community. There's a reason why those laws exist and it isn't to just be mean.
...and from an HOA board...
Very similar story here with my wife buying me a GMG DB around the same time frame for my birthday for about the same reasons.
My experience has been similar where it's been some great food, endless problems with great customer service for the most part. I, too, am just kind of over it at this...
I got a pair of the bear claws or whatever they are for Christmas and love them. Makes the task much quicker if nothing else and I like the larger shreds that come from them personally. In the end, it all tastes amazing though so I won't judge anyone's shredding method.
Water shouldn't be boiling obviously. That's going to be 212 degrees if you're at sea level which, to me, would be too much variance at 150 degrees. Especially sustained long enough to boil water.
I would read the forums about moving the main box as I ended up having to shift mine all the...
So you set your grill to 255 degrees and then cooked it for a length of time that would be Good for it if it were 225 degrees and then were surprised that it was dried out and overcooked. Am I missing something here?
