    Opinions on Pellet grills

Ed, all pellet grills are basically the same, an auger to deliver the pellets to the fire pot, a controller to tell the auger what to do and the grill shape itself. What you are paying for with the higher cost grills is the cost of better materials and better electronics in the controller. The...

    Best pellets? Got a traeger.

I am also a Lumber Jack pellets fan. I like their Hickory, I also make my own blends with Hickory for the base.

    Opinions on Pellet grills

I have the Timberline 1300 and it's been a great grill so far. I think the new Traeger lineup is hard to beat. They have added a new brushless auger motor and improved the controller. I don't think you could go wrong with them.

Any of you smokers have a Home Theater?

Is this directed at me? I have Aerial speakers, I have a set of 10T(discontinued) for l&r main, two SW12 subs(discontinued), CC5 center, SR3 surround and Model 6 for rear surround. I am adding RSL C34E ceiling speakers for my upgrade to Atmos. My amplifiers are all Classé. Cam-350 for front l,r...

Any of you smokers have a Home Theater?

John, if you ever get the chance you should listen to some Aerial speakers. I have a set of 10T(discontinued) for l&r main, two SW12 subs(discontinued), CC5 center, SR3 surround and Model 6 for rear surround. They are 20 years old and still perform the same as when new. Being a pilot I was able...

    Does pellet type/flavor really matter?

I have found Lumber Jack to be my go to pellets. They are 100% the wood described on the bag, without any fillers, flavored oils, or other products.

    Tax Return = New Smoker

You should really check out the new Traeger lineup, they have improved with brush less auger motor and many other advancements. I love my 1300 and if you have a friends and family discount, the Traeger is a no brainer.

Any of you smokers have a Home Theater?

As I stated I am really into audio and I agree completely about the sound being just as important as the video, I miss my laser disc collection and wish I had never sold my player. This is one of the reasons I am upgrading to the Atmos overhead speakers, to increase the sound envelopment for the...

Nice portable mill setup. That's a nice Birch log, you should get some nice pieces from that.

Any of you smokers have a Home Theater?

I blame the directors for the failure of 3D. They concentrated too much on the wow factor of things jumping out at you, instead of making the film more realistic and lifelike with the depth capability of 3D. I think if the technology ever advances to the point that 3D can be viewed without...

Any of you smokers have a Home Theater?

Lol, thanks for all the nice comments. I have a modest cook setup, just my grills on my back deck, nothing fancy. I am rather proud of the H/T and garage. My wife and I did all the finishing work in the H/T, just had the basic walls done when I had the house built. We did all the trim, curtains...

Any of you smokers have a Home Theater?

I have a 3 bay+ garage and one bay is my wood shop. Here is a pic from the center bay of my shop bay. The other side of the garage is where I keep my Mustang and it's setup for auto repairs. I don't have a pic of that side but it has the same set of steel cabinets and a large wood work bench on...

Any of you smokers have a Home Theater?

John, I have been an audiophile for most of my life and was always into audio. I started getting into H/T back in the 90's also and your are correct it was hideously expensive and complicated, with the old CRT projectors and line doublers of that era. The tech they have now is really amazing and...

Any of you smokers have a Home Theater?

Here are some pics from before I tore it apart. Here is what it currently looks like. I had to run a new HDMI cable for the projector, as the old one would not pass 4K. I had to open up the rear soffit to gain access to the wiring. I am also running wires for 4 in-ceiling speakers for...

Any of you smokers have a Home Theater?

I was just wondering if any of you were into movies and had a home theater in your house. I am a movie and TV fan and have had a home theater in my house for over 20 years. When I built my current house, in 2000, I made a dedicated room for music and movies. Have really enjoyed it over the years...

First Pellet Smoker and 1st Cook

One point I would make is you will not get much smoke flavor, on a pellet grill, at temps much over 250°.

Kamado Joe Classic for $749 - too good to pass up??

That's a great deal on the Kamado Joe, I would jump on that. I think a Kamado Joe and a pellet grill are the perfect combination to cook anything.
