Those are also my options here in TN. SAMs Club 4.95 lb for Salmon and 5.95 for steelhead so that being said price does not mean much. I will try the steelhead for the next go around yet in a way don't like to fix something that is not broke. -

Looking for advice - which electric smoker should I buy?
Justin. I have owned my 30" MES for two years now with no problems what so ever. The only thing I did not like when I first bought it , it would not cold smoke and you have to add chips often. They have recently have come out with a cold smoke attachment that will generate smoke for 4 hours...- putcz

Smoke pistol smoke generator
I have tried the smoke pistol and was not at all happy with it, could never keep it going. I purchased the cold smoking attachment that MES makes and that works real well. That is all I use now as it smokes for a much longer period of time 5hours plus and can be used for hot or cold smoking...- putcz

How Many Mes Owners Here?
Love my MES have not had a problem since day one, added the cold smoke attachment and that is great. You get a lot more smoke over a much longer period of time so I use that for cold and hot smoking. I bought mine at TSC- putcz

Alder Smoked Novalox
Hi Putcz here, Made a mistake on my post. Used Sugar Cure not Tender Quick. That happens when one is doing three things at once. -

Hi Chuck, is there a reason you did not use just Tenderquick rather then add more kosher salt. I have tried just using it and the texture is excellent. Will smoke tomorrow and see how it tastes. Wish me luck.
