    Chimney depth help

    Thanks Gersus I'm building a 200 gallong RF and using a 6" dia chimney.  From what I have seen, some are welded straight to the chamber with none protruding and others with a few inches protruding into the chamber.  Trying to figure out the pro's and cons, anyones input is appreciated.

    I have used the BBQ calculator for my dimensioning but don't understand how far the base of the chimney should protrude into the smoker.  Is there a rule of thumb for this?  Thanks
