Thanks for all the quick replies. I agree Gary's idea makes good sense. That cooker is built like a tank, I'm gonna assume that it will hold good thermo temp for awhile. Heck, its 120F by 0900! I'll do some tinkering with it. I'll also be sure to post pics of the process. Thanks everyone.

RW, What do you use for the (protective coat) paint on this cooker? The rattle can jobs that I use don't seem to last long. Btw, very nice job so far on the restoration!................................Oops, just seed your paint post lol! Great info!

Well this is my first time seeing a set up like this one with such a vertical transfer of heat and the "not so typical" RF set up. I LOVE IT! Reasonable man theory leads me to believe that it will be an extremely fuel efficient cooker. Something I would think about is the occasional cleaning...
More pics...Can't wait to smoke on it! I "recycled" a Weber wheel/axle assembly so I can move it around by myself. I have a steel block under the FB to level it out. Not trying to make it all fancy like my big one...just somethin simple
