OG Grilla knocked another one out of the park!

Congrats, great looking cook. It's been my experience that still pics just don't show the juiciness on most shots, without special setups. I have taken pics of extra juicy meats and they just look dry also.

Very Disappointed In Traeger Pellet Grill/Smokers

Glad you got things worked out, I have really enjoyed my Timberline and haven't had any of the problems others have had.

Kuma no long makes pellet grills.

This is exactly why I ruled them out when I was looking for my grill. I just didn't have any faith that they would stay in the grill market. This market is so competitive now and the profit margins are fairly small that if a company hasn't been doing it for quite a while, I just don't know if...

    Traeger Pro 780 help

I haven't seen the new D2 controller, does it still have the super smoke setting? If so, start your cook at 200° on SS and run it for about 3 hrs and then crank it up to whatever temp you desire. This should give you a good smoke flavor, if you are using a good pellet, like Lumberjack, or...

    New to Green Egg

It's very easy and there are lots of youtube videos on everything you would need to know. Jump in and start enjoying Kamado cooking, it's great. Just get a Kamado Joe instead of the BGE, better bang for your buck.

    New to Green Egg

Adding wood after 4hrs is just a waste of time, The meat has soaked up all it is going to in about the first 3 hrs, it's not going to take but very little more smoke flavor, after that. As stated, just lay your wood chunks around the pile, mixed in with your lump and start the pile in the...

    Cleaning a Traeger

Get a set of plastic joint compound spreaders for Lowes or HD. They are only a few bucks. The different sizes will allow to reach about everywhere inside your grill. About every 3 months I use the spreaders to scrape the inside on my 1300 and remove as much of the built on grease and crud as I...

Novice need advice on first pellet smoker purchase

A PID controller is a huge advantage over the old style controller, can you say flame outs and hopper fires? The new D2 controller is the latest controller and comes with a brushless auger motor, to prevent auger jams and for superior performance, as well as wifi control, with the available app...

    New to Green Egg

Like motocrash says, Oak is the least flavored wood to use for smoke flavor. Use large chunks of Hickory and place them in your lump charcoal pile around where you start the fire. You can also get some Pecan, Cherry, Peach and Mesquite chunks and see how you like those flavors with other things...

Novice need advice on first pellet smoker purchase

Cabelas now has the new Traeger Pro 575 https://www.cabelas.com/product/TRAEGER-PRO/3074351.uts?slotId=3 it's at the limit of your budget but it's the best grill offered. The new Pro has the new D2 controller and WiFire technology and is far superior to the controllers on the other choices. Just...

    Another Pellet Question

I guess it could make sense but not to me. If you need to use a smoke tube to get more smoke flavor, then why take away flavor by using less flavorful pellets? I really like my Lumberjack pellets and I use them in both the hopper and the smoke tube, on the occasions I use a smoke tube.

1st Brisket on a pellet grill, comparison to BGE XL

Try a cook with your probe as close as you can get it to the grill probe. I think you will find the temps will be very close. Your grill is measuring the temps nearest the probe and the probe is in the spot that will give the best average temps for that grill. I wouldn't worry about temp swings...

    Diving into pellet grills

I have read nothing but good things about the P&S and if you look on their site you can find several guys went from the Yoder to the P&S. I was planning on getting one until I ran into a deal that I just couldn't pass up on my Timberline 1300.
