    Which Food Vacuum Machine?

Op, if you can step up your budget, I highly recommend the VacMaster VP112S Chamber Vacuum Sealer. I have heavily used this machine for several years and it has never given me a single problem. There is a huge advantage with chamber sealers over end bag type sealers and I think they are well...

    Pellet burning Kamado Joe

Personally, I just can't see this working very well. A Ceramic Kamado is so efficient with fuel use, I can't see how enough pellets would burn to get any flavor. It only has an 8lb hopper, so it obviously doesn't use many pellets during a cook. I just think the 2 types of cooking can't be...

    New smoker

I have a Traeger Timberline 1300 and although I like it, I wouldn't have gotten it if it weren't for the fantastic deal I got on it. I don't think the Traeger grills are worth the price they want for them. Personally I just can't stand the guys running Rec Tec and I was going to get the...

    Help on a pellet smoker

I have a Traeger and I am very happy with it but it doesn't have a stick burner flavor profile. From my research the pellet grill the comes closest to what you are looking for would be a Mack 1, or 2 star General.

    Pit Boss Austin XL Alternative

It would be hard to beat the XL. The size and capability are about the best you can get, at that price. If you are unhappy with the controller, after you use it some, you can always upgrade it with a Savannah Stoker PID controller and have a great combination at a good cost.

I'm on the "No Wrap" ribs bandwagon

I stopped wrapping my ribs many years ago. I have a Big Joe and I even stopped spritzing my ribs. I just put plenty of rub on them and just let them cook at 225° until they pass the bend test, usually about 5 1/2-6 hrs. Sometimes I sauce them on the grill, at that point but most times I just put...

    Timberline 850 model comparison

I have a Timberline 1300 and love it. The new D2 is a very nice upgrade but I don't know if it's worth $600, you can buy a lot of meat for $600.

First No Wrap Ribs (baby backs) going on in a couple hours...nervous

Good looking ribs. I stopped wrapping my ribs many years ago, I just prefer the bark and texture when unwrapped.

Novice need advice on first pellet smoker purchase

This has been one of the crazyiest threads I have read on the forum. It just proves to me that everyone has their own opinions about BBQ and we should all just enjoy whatever equipment we have to make it.

    Traeger Timberline owners....

My Timberline says to start the grill with the lid closed and that is the way I use it. If you want smoke flavor on you chicken I would start it up and 200° and let it heat soak for about 30 minutes. Then set it for SS and put your full chicken in. I would run it for about 1 hr on SS and the...

    I won an Egg !

Congrats! I would sell the old one, as you will not get a price near what it's worth for the new one, due to the lack of a warranty.

Please recommend a pellet pooper in the $500 range.

In that price range and wanting to smoke and grill, the Austin XL is hard to beat.

Help me make a final decision

Do you live in cold country? The Grilla has an advantage with the double insulated bottom. Personally I would go with the Grilla Alpha, as I just can't stand the owners of Rec Tec's commercials. It also seems too me that everything at Rect Tec is geared toward the Bull and the other grills are...

    Traeger Timberline owners....

I have the original 1300 and I am very happy with it. The new D2 versions are supposed to be much better. There are a number of options in the timberline price range, it all depends on what you are looking for. The Timberline has double wall construction, wifi and Traeger's support behind it...
