Usually, you build the firebox, weld it to the CC, then insulate the outside of the FB. Some guys tack roofing nails or similar spikes to hold the insulation in place before welding on the outer skin. You can use a strip mounted at a 45 on the corners and weld the skin to that or I've seen guys...
I would just go with the 4.25 @ 30 without a cap. You want to regulate the air flow by the intake vents, not the exhaust.

There is a note on the Feldon's calculator page about chimney length recommending minimum length. Feldon's isn't correct for FB/CC opening for reverse flow, but the chimney recommendation for length is good. Using pure volume numbers is cool, but make sure you base it on pipe, not box tubing...

Additionally, you may want to make that chimney 30", the heat column is what makes the smoker draw so it will breathe a little better.

While you are out riding, keep an eye out for an apple orchard, they may have some pruned limbs from last fall that are already seasoned and ready for burn. Apple has a good flavor.
Check with a muffler shop that works on trucks. They should have drops bigger than that really cheap. It may work @ 24, but if it doesn't, you will have to weld on another piece, not the end of the world to try since your tank is short and fat.

I like that style, the CC radius should not be too hard to pick up and layout and you could estimate CC volume close enough. I think the doors would be tough to get to work good due to the length/hinge load. You would get more meat on there for sure.
