I LOVE how you framed the firebox!
I wish I'd thought of creating a lip around the edge of the insulated sections so that when you do the final welds to seal it in, you can weld past the lip and not burn any of it.
I'm with 2Bears on this one.
You might wanna go with two doors for both the ease of lifting and to help avoid sag, warpage and heat loss from that big an opening.

Pro-tip for the day:
Go to the DMV bright and early on a weekday.(Right when they open the door, be there.)
Bring EVERYTHING.
At the busiest office in Kern County, I was there all of about 10 minutes, tops.

So far,it's been a week of getting the runaround from the DMV and CHP inspection office over the registration.
I made a half-dozen phone calls and a couple of trips before finally finding out that in California, you only need the CHP inspection for trailers over 2,000 lbs...
I got the insulation from Grainger.
It's called mineral wool or stone wool.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mineral_wool)
