MES 40 - Troubleshoot cause of temp reading on display higher than actual temps
I have the same Model # smoker as you. I have also noticed that the temperature displayed on the controller is lower than my Maverick thermometer when smoking a load of meat. I compared the two temperatures one day with the smoker empty and they seemed to match. Not sure what that means though- markk

What is up with the MBS 40? Getting hard to find.
I bought mine about 6 weeks ago at the Cabela's store here in Omaha, 40" stainless, glass door and 1200 watt model. Kind of expensive though, $399.00 plus $50.00 for a two year extended warranty (in case of wiring problems).- markk

Well I went to Sam's Club with no luck, so I ended up at Cabela's and purchased the Materbuilt 40, 1200 watt with access door on back.
