    New 14.5 WSM

I have been using my mini and my 14.5 (got for Christmas) either does about the same amount of food. I can do 12 chicken drums without squeezing, 6 turkey legs, a 8 pound chicken, 3 racks of ribs (2 cut in half on top and one cut in half on bottom grate), I am going to see if I can do more ribs...

No they don't, however until they are seasoned they will run a bit hot and will leak just a bit.

Cutting "Notch" In WSM Drum For Temp Probe Wires

I put grommets in and because they have to be below the top grate when I take the top grate off to get at the bottom grate I have to remove the probes.  The grommets work well for the lower grate but are a pain for the upper.   I cut notches in both my 22.5 and my 14.5, it was 30 seconds each...

    Covers for mini

Too much trouble, especially with bad knees. Also I like to sit out there on the patio with a cup of coffee and just look at the smokers!

    Covers for mini

I have been using a trashbag to cover my mini. The wife doesn't like that so much, thinks it looks like a pile of trash ready to go. I like the cover that came with the 14.5 but one won't fit on the mini. I had considered cutting down a cover for an 18.5, but wonder how that would work. What...

Video notching the rim of the WSM 14.5 and 22.5 for thermometer

I have seen several threads about how to cut the notch in the WSM's and pictures of it but I decided I would do a video of actually doing it. I used a Dewalt angle grinder with a 1/4 inch grinding wheel. I didn't use any tape and just eyeballed the depth of the cut, I made it so it just cut the...

major redesign of patio layout - wife thinks I am nuts

I made a big change in my patio setup, proudly I showed the wife... She said "what's different?"  some people just don't understand!  It was finally warm enough to get outside (50 degrees) and so I moved the OTG and the WSM 22 swapping places so now the OTG will be easier to use and the WSM...
