    Homebrewers Roll-Call

Damn phone....anyway... Only bottles for now, time will tell. Since I've started home brewing I've been trying all types of beer I can find to understand the flavors and ingredients. To say I've found any favorites would be premature, but I havent found anything I really don't like yet.

    Homebrewers Roll-Call

How long have you been brewing? All-grain or Extract? What was the last beer you brewed? Bottle or Keg? Fav Brewed my first ever (red ale) about 3 weeks ago. Tried the first bottle of that yesterday. Tasted great and very rewarding just being drinkable IMO! So far just extract but still...

    This is rough...

I always (try to) follow the golden rule before grocery shopping....don't go hungry! It will greatly cut down on the WTF's when you look in the pantry later on.

    Cleaning Smoker Racks

I don't clean mine very often..just when they really get gunked up. Then I wait for a night when I'm using the charcoal grill and throw them over HOT coals when Im done griling. That burns everything so It's crispy enough to get off with a wire brush. If you smoke over 200 degrees and preheat, I...

    Just my luck

I like to think I keep my therms safe and protected. I guess not well enough though. The day we move in to our new(first) house, my brother's dog found them buried in a box with my other supplies and tore them up pretty good. About $100 loss total. Just venting!

    Success!

I've looked into them before and I believe they're great, but for now I probably will just stick with what I have since it does run so smoothly on its own, however I could definitely see it coming in handy should the weather turn ugly in the middle of a long smoke. Thanks for the compliments!

Thanks! Here are a few pics of the inside, they are around the forums somewhere too from my first post when I built it. First pic is just of a grate from the top, second is the grate rack, I built it out of flat steel, that pic is about mid build, now it holds 3 grates and a water pan(charcoal...

    Success!

So this past weekend I did my first overnight smoke after I made some modifications to the vertical smoker I built. I've been going through a lot of trial and error with this smoker for the last couple years and I think I finally got it dialed in. I smoked 2 butts, a 9lb and 7lb, both went on at...

AS A NEWBIE HOW DARE I??

About 2 years ago, I found my dad's brinkmann smoke'n'grill in the shed and thought "I love smoked meat, I'm gonna make some of my own", so I bought a chunk of pork and some chicken legs and built a fire with charcoal and too much(I dont use any now) lighter fluid. Battled the brinkmann for heat...
