    I have the MES 30. In my past experience I have never achieved a true smoke ring. I always use one of the Amazen pellet mazes. Can't see how a tube would be any different.

    I haven't studied on the Smoke Hollow, but if there is only one vent for outflow, it most definitely sounds like an airflow problem. Seems the issue was discussed on this forum before. You might try to do a search.

    Wow. I can get tri tip on sale here for $3.99/lb. It is one of my go to's when I want something flavorful and quick. I agree with Brian about the chuck roast. Comes out very tender.
