    propane consumption insight

With a 10k btu tube burner in my Smoke Hollow, I have done a couple 16-18hr butt/brisket smokes, along with 3 to 4 BB rib smokes of 6hrs each and still had Lp left for some sausage smokes, which while they're at lower temps they still run 5-6 hrs each. Never really paid any mind to the usage, as...

Trying my hand at smoked salt -- Quick Question

Cold smoking done here, no water, using a stainless splatter screen. Pour kosher salt on screen and tap to shake off the fine pieces over a 1/2 sheet pan. When salt is smoked, dump back onto sheet pan to mix the fine pieces back in and store in jars or baggies. Then they get labeled with wood...

Pink Floyd Covers.......that really are damn good

When my first kid was on the way into this world, I had to go out and get a Cassette of some Floyd for the wife while she was in labor (28hrs) giving birth. Headed to Peaches (music store that had huge album covers on building) which was around corner, picked up dark side & animals and we...

    Jerky Rods?

Not sure about a cookshack smoker but oak dowel rods work in my smoke hollow. Picked them up at HDepot, you can cut them to length in store or at home. Use the drop to plunge your stuffing tubes if you make sausage. Good luck!!

    Newbie Sausage maker

Some great tips above, using the search engine is your best resource. LEM makes a great grinder, just picked up the .75hp #12 couple month ago and it's a beast compared to the smaller 70's grinder I used for yrs after the kitchen aide.
