    I agree....I'm a novice welder as well.  Heck...this project is the first time I've ever touched welding...I'd be happy with the weld you posted :)

    More progress.  Got the cooking grates fully completed, the door mounted (that was a bear to handle all alone :) ) and then the door stop tacked.

    Wow...the plenum looks great...if mine comes out even close I'll be happy :) I agree with kam...have your cousin wire up the right outlet.  You'll spend 20 bucks just on the plug alone to re-wire the welder...might as well do it "right" the first time and then you never have to worry about it...

    More progress today.  Doesn't feel like a whole lot for the hours I put in....but that might just be the nasty heat and humidity trying to work outside... Cleaned up and basically re-welded all of the tank-to-leg joints. Front legs cut and welded on.  They're about 3/4" lower than the wheels...

    Thanks Kam...one thing I didn't consider is the weight of the stack and plenum...it won't weigh as much as the firebox, but it's weight I didn't consider.

    More progress...got the base/cart fabricated: Getting the cook chamber set: All done: Pretty heavy to lift the front end and move.  Hoping that the massive weight of the firebox hanging off her butt will prove my thoughts/location of the wheels to be correct. Made one glaring...
