Thanks! - As far as the $ I figured as much but just in case I could get a deal on the pucks I wondered how they smoked in just a GOSM chip box.

Bradley wood discs in a GOSM?

Maybe a dumb question but have any of you used Bradley wood pucks in a GOSM or similar propane smoker? Just the ease of storage and uniform size seems like they would work perfectly.

    Remote Thermo Range Boost

maybe it's because my smoker is up on the 2nd tier of my deck off the back of the house but I never have a problem with receiving signal from my ET-73 - I go to the front yard and work on my car, etc. and still get a reading.

Smoke with chunks not chips - most meats (ribs, brisket, pork butt, etc.) Usually it's a matter of taste - I smoke meat (chicken, turkey, ribs, butts, etc.) until approx. 140 degrees then just cook the rest of the way without smoke. Best vacuum packer

Just had a steak Tuesday night that I had forgotten about in the freezer (at least 6 months old) and it was perfect. I think I paid $15 for it - bags are a bit high but I found some on...

What do you do about smoking in Winter?

Live in the "snow belt" in N.E. Ohio and its not called that for chits and grins! I have a GOSM (Kenmore) and I smoke all winter long - I have a large sheet of plastic paneling that I use for a wind break as wind is the only thing that will affect the smokers temps. In fact - winter is my...

    Fire

When I do higher temp smokes on my GOSM I wrap my wood chunks in foil, poke a small hole and then put into my chip box - I found a bigger cast iron box and replaced the one that came with the unit. This seems to work fine.

    GOSM Heat Problems

Live in the "Snowbelt" Northeast Ohio and it gets COLD! here - I have no problems keeping my smoker up to temp - really helps to have a wind break - I use a large piece of hard plastic wall board to shield the smoker from the wind and it works great! Without I have difficulty holding temps...
