    Everyone is different. I am close to Rick @ 235-245 degrees. I will have to check, but I think I read in Arron Franklin's book that his temp is 275 degrees. We need to keep in mind though that we are using electric smokers and Aaron and other pitmasters use wood and a complete different type smoker.

    A Smoke Ring from Smoke Daddy will definitely produce smoke as well as stay lit. I also have the Tube from Todd and it does a pretty good job, but having used them both with success, I prefer the Smoke Ring, lthough either one should do the job way better than the AMPS.

    If you can push the middle in, then that strainer is not the same quality of steel that the Smoke Ring is. The strainer being that light will burn up in no time.
