I just got back from fishing in Alaska and have a freezer full of silver and king salmon and halibut.
Hit me with your best recipes please.
I have a Camp chef woodwind with the sear box so anything related to that would be awesome!
Looking to try a beer can chicken this weekend on mt woodwind and looking for advice.
Camp chef says to cook at 375 and Traeger says to cook at 425.
My goal is a chicken thats juicy on the inside with crispy delicious skin. What has been the best experience for crispy skin?
Does the pellet tube just sit right on the grate and start to smolder after a while?
Also, has anybody tried cooking pizza right on the grate or are you better off with a stone?
I got my new Woodwind and tried it out this weekend. I started with a reverse sear steak on friday and some bacon wrapped meatballs on saturday right out of the camp chef cookbook. They both turned out good and had lots of flavor.
I cant tell how much smoke Im actually getting when Im cooking...
I was looking at the Traeger and ended up going with the Woodwind after reading many comments and reviews. Im looking forward to see how it works.
If you order off of their website you get a free cover and bag of pellets along with free shipping. Fast too. I ordered it on saturday night and...
I actually ended up ordering a Camp Chef Woodwind with the sear box this last weekend. It seemed to check all of the boxes that I wanted.
Im looking forward to some smoked ribs!
Just ordered my new Woodwind with the sear box. I was hot on the Traeger until I came on here and started doing more research. The sear box is what did it for me!
Anybody know how long they typically take to ship? Im in MN.
Is there one that you recommend? The more I look in the last couple of days the more Im starting to lean towards the Camp Chef woodwind with the sear box.
Ross..Are you happy with your RecTec and do you know what their warranty is?
I see you're from Minneapolis, I'm in Apple Valley. What brand pellets do you use and where do you get them?
Not really, mostly convenience. There are Traeger dealers with parts and accessories within a mile or two of my house. If there is better for less that I could still use the Traeger pellets in then I would look into it but the ones Im looking at seem to fit all of my needs.
I have looked at them both and actually like the size of the 22 better. We dont do a ton of entertaining so I would be more concerned about heating a lot of empty space that Im not using with the bigger grill.
I know the Timberline is big, but the fancy wifi controller speaks to the gadget...
Im going to pull the trigger on a Treaeger this spring and trying to decide which one to get. Right now its between the Pro series 22 or 34 and the Timberline 850. I cant decide if the extra features of the Timberline are worth the extra cost.
Anybody have any advice on either one?
