I've got a GMG Daniel Boone..have had it now going on 3 years LOVE IT! so easy to use, and produces wonderful end products no matter what you are cooking. Chicken, ribs, pork butt, turkey. I DO have a Amaze N tube smoker that I'll light and set on the grate if I want a serious smoke to my ribs...
So...you tapped the WEBER LID on each time? and that shaped the outer lip of the pot?? I was thinking of laying the pot on it's side with the outer lip on a hard surface and then hitting down on the inner edge as I turned the pot to compress the outer ring/lip a bit. Right now there's no way...
Hey guys, for those that have their WSM mini's up and runnning. I AM SO CLOSE, but ran into a snag. I have a smokey joe gold, and just got my IMUSA 32 quart tamale steamer all cut out and ready to go..the tamale steamer fits the base of the Smokey Joe Gold PERFECTLY..however the LID of the...
I started in home brewing in about 1996..and started doing your basic extract type kits. I still brew an occasional beer now and then, but have become much more adept at brewing Hard Ciders and Meads (Honey wine). With Mead you need alot of patience, as aging can take years, but it really pays...
Looks great. I love it! I am just gathering all the parts to build my first MINI out of a smokey joe Gold. Can't wait to get her smokin. It's going to be STRICTLY a low and slow unit, as I have a GMG Daniel Boone pellet pooper and a BGE for my "hot" cooks and steak seering.
Hey guys, I know this thread is a couple months old. Just wanted to see how all you guys are doing with your WSM mini's. I just ordered all the parts to build my own. I am going to be using a Smokey Joe GOLD, however, not the silver. There is no ash pan underneath, for those of you using the...
very nice....Well I decided to pull the trigger (on building a mini wsm)...I saw the ones for sale, and can't see paying that much for one. After all, I have a smokey joe gold edition sitting here gather dust in my garage..so I have already ordered the 32qt stock pot, an extra grill rack, and...
Dunno about that..I retired my 30 without window LONG ago...I had the company send me two digital control units over my ownership and the thing never worked correctly. Don't get me wrong, it was OK when it worked..but I don't think I'd own another one.
Hey guys, my Kamado listed above is STILL up for sale...OR, I would be willing to trade as well. Let me know what you have in trade. I would love to get back into a WSM, or maybe a Smokin-It type of unit (no masterbuilts or Bradleys please)
Located in S.W. Wisconsin, and would consider...
I smoke all the time on my Avacado Kamado. Super easy...I DO use a stoker unit....but as said above..I fill the bottom with Lump charcoal..throw in 3 or 4 pieces of my selected smoking wood, and start a few coals in a chimney, then dump it in...close the lid, and set the stoker to run anywhere...
