    I got two PM'S telling me I am not using plywood. I am using plywood, OSB Plywood to be specific. There is lots of info on here going over using OSB please use one of them I do not wish for this thread to become a debate. For my application it is just fine.

    Yep! honestly the precuations are the same as any wood smoker. Backer board, fire control close by, etc

    Pine construction

    You can use pine. What you cannot use is pressure treated. Pine is safe when taking the proper precautions.

    Looking at his design, would it be better to have a chimney at the top with a valve as opposed to the louvers for venting? I do plan to go propane as i think on it, using a 12k burner
