Hers what I've come up with. Plasma cut the "fingers" out of 1/4 plate steel. These fingers are welded to the tank door. Bushing stock (1/2" Hole) is welded to 1/4" x 3" wide x 4" long flat stock; which is then welded to the tank. 1/2" x 4-1/2" SHC (bolts) are used to glue it all together.

Gary, the front chamber is partitioned off from the back 2/3. I have tried without this partition, which works great if you don't want to grill anything at the same time. (opening and closing door) So then I tried a full partition, but I wanted to be able to "share" heat between front and back...
I was bored and thought I would make a few meat hooks.. I use them for hanging sausage, yard birds, and stuff. I'm making a set that will be a little shorter for the front grill chamber. They can be used with or without the racks. Just trying something different I guess.
That is a really cool tank to start with! I'll be watching this. As far as fire box size, I would plug those numbers into a pit calculator to get you close. I usually go a little bigger because I'm up in Michigan, and I like to smoke year round.
