    Mini without a pot

Yeah, the lid is a bit too big. I got some rope gasket, thought it perhaps would bridge the gap. Haven't tried it yet. If that doesn't work I'll put a metal band. About the handles my intention was to forge some custom handles, maybe with springs for cool touch. There is this issue with lack of...

    Mini without a pot

I decided I want a Mini WSM for camping. Unfortunately, steamers or other suitable pots seem to be impossible to find at decent price on this side of the Atlantic. So what to do? Let's make a 'pot'. I went to the local metal supply and bought a piece of 1.5 mm sheet metal 30 cm by 120...

    Basic chicken cooker quick build.

I like it! Compact, functional and looks well-designed. Haven't seen anything like it before. Is there a baffle plate at the firebox opening, can't see from the pics on py phone? Cheers /Wes

    RF Smoker Burn In questions

I used good quality canola oil. Reason I chose canola oil is mainly because it was recommended by the more experienced guys on the forum. I slightly heated the CC, squirted it in the CC using a small PET bottle where I had poked a hole in the cap with a nail (again, tip from forum guys), then...

M7's build thread. Reverse Flow trailer mounted with storage compartments.

I have seen many threads where people have used mineral wool. When I manage to rebuild my rig I will use it for the FB. Stone wool will take 700-800C and ceramic over 1200C. Glass wool is less heat resistant. That specific product page does not give info on the material but the FAQ page states...

What is everyone cooking for Christmas?

Smoked some thick ribs (kind of like what you guys call country style I guess) and some salmon. Next christmas I'll throw in some ham, moose, reindeer and herring too (if I remember to pull it from the freezer in time)! Too cold and dark for pics this year... ;-) Merry christmas! Cheers /Wes

That is perhaps the best bbq painting advice I have seen so far. This goes straight into the bookmarks. Thanks, Rib. Cheers /Wes

My first 80Gal RF build... This is going to be a blast!

Assuming it's for the FB insulation... Is it necessary to use ceramic wool? I thought stone wool could be tough enough. I once tried measuring the surface temp of my firebox while testing how hot I could heat the RF. Measuring with one of those fancy Fluke laser thingys (I so want one...) it...
