I had so much room in my masterbuilt XL I got carried away.
1 slab of pork ribs, 1 slab of beef ribs, 1 pork loin, 1 2 lb salmon filet and a 7 lb chicken.
A little tricky with so many different foods...
ok. calling on all Masterbuilt 40 xl gas smoker owners. Can any one tell me the measurements of the foot print on this unit. It is also known as the gs40. I need the measurements of the feet on the ground/

Not to much but maybe to little. Just thoght there might be a trick to the perfect tbs. Thanks for the other info. does the sand let you smoke at a higher temp without over evaporating the water?

ok. three questions. I have read here that some people put sand in thier water tray. Can anyone tell me why. I also sw some wrap the bottom of the pan. why. Last but not least how do you achieve a goodTBS?

Thanks for the info. Yes sometimes it seems like there is no smoke but i can smell the wood. How important is the leaking smoke through the door?
