I cured a small pork loin to try this out and the outside is kinda brown and inside pink should I he worried? Loin was Froze for awhile I just grabbed it outtakes the freezer to try this out
This stack should be a sticky I've been looking for weeks it not months for something like this. Much better than the dryer duct I bought today glad I kept searching.
Ya I meant for the stack, just wondering if it would make a difference different draws or something. Did your smoker already have that exhaust you just put the stack on? Just going by what you said about the damper.
Thanks guys. I was hoping to make something adjustable so I could close it off when I'm not smoking but the magnet idea might work think I'm just gonna drill a bunch of holes like you said I'm sick of my food tasting like creosote.
Hey guys I had the Mes analog unit. This smoker doesn't have a vent gotta leave the door open which sucks. I get alot of white smoke because of this. Just wondering if I could get some pics of your vents so I can try to build something other than just drilling holes in it. thanks
I have the same smoker and have no problem getting the amnps going I have the tray. Just make sure when you light it it's burning good. If you can blow out the flame and then blow really hard and get the flame back seems to be the key I've never had it go out. My only problem is this smoker...
Casing is a bit tough and the meat is a little mushy thinking we didn't get it stuffed quite tight enough. 4 hours with the amnps was a bit much to will probably just do 2 hours on the next batch.
Got a bit of shrivel I think it must have been the temp swings went up to 180 once on the maverick. We finally got some snow today so I had a tub of water and snow ready beside the smoker for the bath that was nice.
