Safbrew t-58 was the yeast I used. Thnks for the help guys. Went ahead and got it up to 72 using an electric heater and gently roused it. Was hoping it was done as I have a porter waiting to be brewed. I need another primary.
Ok I brewed a belgian white ale about two weeks ago when the weather was warmer and pitched the yeast at about 70 and the first two days of fermentation looked good. Then the weather changed. Nothing but cold and rain for the last two weeks. Well I wrapped my fermentor in some blnakets thinking...
I think Sams will get them back in when the problem is fixed. They dont have a comparitive replacement for the MES 40 and the older model sold. I doubt Sams will lose any money and if not already refunded for the recall will get them all replaced at no cost to sams.
Right now it looks like the 2nd gen smokers are "out of stock" on the masterbuilt website as well. Im thinking while there might not be a full recall they pulled them to fix them.
I have to disagree on the Arrogant Bastard. One of my favorite beers. Actually all of the Bastards are great ales to me. Maybe its because your expecting it to be an IPA and in fact its an American Strong Ale not a straight IPA. But then beer taste like taste in everything is subjective.
Lot of micro brews around here are using cans now instead of bottles. Not sure how much of a trend its going to be but they are citing ease of transport and things like that for reasoning with going for cans over bottles.
I use untappd to rate beers and keep up with what I like and dont like. Having tried over 300 beers or so at least it gets kind of complicated eventually. Finally got the wife on it so she can keep track of the ones she likes as well.
Going to try the nonstick spray next time. Its what I usually use for my beer bread but I wanted to try and stay true to the recipe. should have followed my gut.
Ok I followed Tas' (http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/116214/irish-soda-bread) recipe for Irish soda bread and While the outside crust looked great that was the only thing that went right. I used a enameled cast iron DO as my baking dish and put country crock (didnt have butter but Iv used it...
They arent seasonal items as my Sams in Montgomery had the older models all last year. They were all recalled. Hopefully the problems will be fixed soon and then we can get a smoker we can use.
Saw some down in Dothan around the 12th of Jan but then last week they had been pulled from the store here in Montgomery. My Walmart had a 30 but i think it was an older model.
Wont be dissappointed. If you do like it though deffinatly tweak it some. I didnt have the cajun seasoning so I just used it as a template and went from there. Good simple sauce.
It seems the 2012 has been pulled from my Sams as someone else mentioned. Looks like a full product recall. Probably why people are having issues with backordered parts. Hopefully MB gets it figured out and puts them back on the shelves soon. Tax return coming up and I was hoping to get one...
Im hoping Masterbuilt is figuring this out and working to get it fixed quickly. Was ready to pull the trigger when I saw these at sams but now that all these problems are presenting themselves Im getting wary.
