Hey to you Jim.
Another FNG here as well.
So far I`ve read and looked at a bunch of stuff that has helped me, confused me, made me laugh, and made me drool.
Good luck on your road to that elusive THIN BLUE SMOKE....
For whatever reason, their web page dosen`t show it--but there it is in the BBQ stuff.
Still under $20.
The ones they sell now DO HAVE A BRAIDED CABLE........
This is what Wal Mart is selling for under $20.
Update on this seemingly dead thread
Doing up a couple of Pork Roasts the BOSS brought home.
She said, go forth and smoke.
Did all the prep, including the silent prayer..Please great god of da meat, let this go well.
Anyhooooo...Watching every half hour or so and all seemed well.
Internal...

Great spot to get some answers.
I`m brandy spanking new to all this as well, but my last cook just about scared the rubber off the soles of my shoes.
These little red wonders usually never get above the 230-250 degree level, but...
I like the "feet" idea a whole bunch.
Thanks...
Now, a word of caution about what I did.
Doing up some pork roasts and around the 2 hour mark I noticed my smoker was jetting up into the 300 deg. range.YIKES......
The pork was right at 145 internal so I went to off load it into a wrapper...
I`ve looked at your mods as well.
Just using propane wasn`t the end goal..I just keep looking at that stupid side burner on my grill and think, I should use that for something other than just another side shelf.
One of those, too good a thing to just toss or ignore--it should be put to some...
Hmmmmmm...the thought of "STALE SMOKE" never entered my mind.
My thoughts were, the more smoke-the better.
Who Knew!!!
Good to know, thank you.
GaryS..
I`ve seen your mods, but mine being ELECTRIC, not charcoal, the bulk of your well done mods wouldn`t apply.
Since you seem to be a pretty...
Never one to just leave things alone when you can experiment..
I`ve got some rope gasket on it`s way to fill the gap between lid and body of my
EEEEEEElectrical ECB.
QUESTION-
Will I need to vent the lid?
I`m thinking yes, probably..but then again..that bit of gasket isn`t really going to...
Yup, the "feet" idea is pretty good on a bunch of levels...
The level I like the most is, it`s easy and cheap.
One of those, Man, why didn`t I think of that things.
Thanx for the replies, I do appreciate them.
I got a PM that mentioned problems with the non stick finishes, so off to the Google I went.
From what I could gather, as long as the temp dosen`t go above 300-350 there isn`t a problem with off gassing.
But thanx for bringing that up.
It does stay hot for awhile after the smoke is done, but...
Thanx for the reply.
Being the committedly lazy person that I am, I wanted to get away from EVER having to clean out the base.
Soooooo I tried some loaf pans and then saw this WOK.
Guess I`ll just keep going with it and see what happens????
Worst case I bugger up the element.
Best case it...
Fellow Cheapskates.
Brand new to the forum and smoking da meats.
Been drooling over Myron and Tuffy`s food for quite awhile so finally made the plunge.
I`ve had the EECB-Electric El Cheep-O Brinkmann for just a little while now, with around 7 smoking's under my belt.
Been sticking to...
all you Masterbuilt Smokers.
FNG here with my used 5 times, so far, Brinkmann.
Did a search for others like me and came up pretty dry on posts.
Am I alone out here?
I`ve got a of question I think y`all could answer, cause I`m thinking many have had one of these in your past, or still have...
