You hit the jackpot when you found this site! You can search up anything you are thinking about smoking and find great threads to scour for tips.
Spent yesterday smoking a nice round tip roast and enjoyed reading the threads from others that have smoked them while the roast was in. A good...
Thanks Raptor. I saved this page to try again in the future. I actually had problems trying to set up a photo bucket account and gave up a while back. Maybe with this I can get it figured out to just put the pictures on the computer and upload them from there.
I'm sorry Raptor but I'm still pork butt stupid about posting pictures. I did want to mention the results though. My girl Bets was swooning from the flavor! She had two burgers from Sunday's Cosco visit that were set aside from freezing and the days were ticking by but they hadn't been cooked...
Dave, I have at least partially fixed that hot spot problem by laying about an 8" square piece of ceramic tile right on top of the fire box. Give that a try and see what you think. My round tip is in right now along with some burgers that will be lunch. I got inspired by a thread I read...
That is exactly what I have planned to smoke tomorrow! I grabbed one at Cosco on Sunday and I wasn't really sure what a round tip was but figured that I would MES one up and find out. My roast has been sitting in the fridge for a few days with rub because work kept popping up preventing from...
What a great idea! Heart attack burgers! I have some chedder cheese and two burgers in the fridge to smoke tomorrow while I'm doing my 8# round tip roast. Dang this place is a blast!
Today's smoke (with peanut shells) was three beautiful speckled sea trout and a Spanish mackeral. Haven't tasted...
Pure dinner table porn! Lord it doesn't get better then rare smoked tender beef with taters and corn on the cob! I sure wish I could find tenderloin priced where I could afford it. They seem to be very proud of that stuff in these parts.
I sure love nice RED meat!. I just have to find one of these tri-tips. I am a Cosco member so maybe I can find one to try. You cooked that one just like I love my meat to be done.
I've never cooked one or even seen one in the meat department but after looking at that gorgeous roast I sure will be looking harder for one in the future. Man that is some pretty meat! Nice job.
I bought mine a month ago or so (MES 30) from Amazon and paid 289.00 shipped. This was for the remote controlled version. I feel lucky since I have love it and told friends and fishing clients about it. A client just wrote me to tell me that the price has gone up to 329.00 plus shipping. I...
For whatever it's worth, I find that it's easier to clean my MES 30 right after a smoke. The water pan keeps the humidity up so the crud is soft and comes off with warm soapy water.
I know that I'm a newbie dredging up an old post but this one got my attention. I''m a gardener and I save everything whether it be for making compost or mulch.
I had nine chicken leg quarters to smoke this afternoon (and an unlimited amount of cold beer on hand and no fishing charters on...
Thanks Bear. I read the post and admired the pictures. I have a Weber Gen 5 in my jacuzzi room with a power hood (ain't I spoiled?) which I usually do my steaks on. I'm thinking that next time around the steaks will spend a little time in the MES 30 and then hit the hot Weber for finishing. I...
"Thanks Capt,I use a Weber8482 pen thermo Model#44073
I run my temps a little higher than normal smokin', Minimum of 275º"
Thanks. I've not seen that one. My MES meat probe seems too big for doing a steak but it might be worth trying. Nothing like a good rare steak and if I could get some...
Those pictures had me slobberin' too but I was wondering how you manage to get a good thermo reading with a meat probe on them? Seems like they would be too thin to get my meat probe in for an accurate read? I love my steaks red but I also love the flavor of smoke. I've not tried smoking steakes...
I'm far too computer "iggorant" to do the picture posting Al. Maybe I can learn to do that at some point since I sure have enjoyed looking at the photos folks have posted here. I gain weight just from looking at them! Besides that they make me seriously hungry.
Enjoying the cold frosty ones as...
