Right, my digital thermometer arrived so I ran a chimney starter worth of cheap lumpwood charcoal in the smoker to see what happened. The results weren't very encouraging! Thanks for the response guys. It's called a Deuba, can't find a website, purchased on Amazon. There's no bottom air vent, there is a significant gap around the bottom.
