I am a Green Bay boy myself (raised there, went to HS at Southwest, College in MadTown...), JC, if that from GB means that. Still go back for games 1-2 X per year :) Go Pack Go!
Indiaswamp, can you post that link you mentioned to your build thread...looking for it now :) I am thinking of building my own this spring... that and a fermenting chamber...hmmm...think I am hooked on this sausage thing...
Thanks!
Brian
Looking at building my own smokehouse this spring and wow...gotta say beautiful! Jelly of all the salmon...used to live in the Pacific NW...miss getting all that salmon for free (ok, not quite...the fly rod's are expensive, but don't tell the wife!). Seriously beautiful work! I bet the cedar...
Welcome!
If you like fish, I attached my Alaskan salmon recipe below...it is modified from someone on here years ago and has worked for 100's of pounds of salmon (yes, fresh from Alaska, even caught by me!) ...it lets you make both cold smoked and hot smoked in the same batch... Family loves...
Ok all,
So while I have smoked a lot of ribs, fish and other stuff I am new to the sausage community. I have successfully made fresh sausage and moving into the smoking arena/circle...
One of my favorite breakfast sausages is Broadbent's Hickory Smoked breakfast sausage...
Hey all,
Been on this site for a bit, but mainly lurking...getting more active now making sausage and other charcuterie (mainly a fish/Alaskan salmon smoker prior to that), so I thought I would say hello! Live in Michigan now (I have been all over the world...) and I am a doc (hence the name)...
Put a hole in the center of roof (slope goes towards the hole) and bingo. Works just fine. They have been doing that for thousands of years in Europe...(see any kitchen room in a castle...).
Yeah, I had to send mine in and get them to update. The problem with their customer service is they are kinda idiots. First, they are somewhere not in the US so you only get a response once a day. For the first week it will be "Try this... " and you have to try, say it did not work.... Takes...
Glad to hear yours works, Dirt...hope mine does. Mine is enroute back to company as we speak... same runaround from them, so we shall see... you give me hope. I just don't understand why companies don't get their SH&% together. If I acted half this way at work, well, I would be unemployed.
Still waiting for mine to be resolved... they sent me a shipping label that shipped it back to me...what a crock of POO. This company is not impressing me.
Hey Guys,
I am new to the forums, but thought I would chime in... I too was a backer and have MeaterBlock that won't update. Their customer service takes DAYS to respond and well, we shall see. Having the SAME problem. Buyer beware. Waited 3 years for this??? Yikes...gotta love Kickstarter :(
