    OK, here's my Qview #1..

Every now and then you get enterprising young kids who volunteer to return your cart for you. (They get the quarter.) Kinda cool, I think. Keeps prices down because Aldi's doesn't have to pay a guy to round up the carts. I don't mind returning mine. I can always use the exercise!

Thanks, Matt, mballi! The bbq sauce is ketchup based. (Or catsup. I can't remember.) Mixed in are brisket drippings, some red pepper, paprika, garlic powder and some of "grampa's cough medicine." (aka, bourbon.) Simmered on the stove in a saucepan for a while until thick enough. You can use...

I'm no expert, that's why I read a lot: Paul Kirk says that when the temp goes down, put in more coal. When the smoke disappears, put in more wood.

Tanks, erain! They were on sale at a new store around D/FW, called Aldi's. I've never tried smoking beef ribs, bone-in. They look a bit more difficult than pork ribs. These ribs were surprisingly tender to start with. I'll remember the gang-picture posting next time. Thanks again!

And while I was smoking the ribs, I messed around with a new (to me) bourbon baked-bean recipe in a small Dutch oven..
