Well she is now on the trailer and coming together pretty good. Should be ready to season by Friday and cook saturday. I'm making this a reverse flow concept so I will have 2 thermo plates installed instead of the one. I've never heard of anyone doing this, I hope it works. Still not sure what...
Very nice job, keep the pics coming, what kind of Plasma did you get, I'm in the market right now. Hypertherm looks like about the best but the price is too. Let me know how you like yours and if you would do anything different.
I'm in the middle of a pretty large build. I want a reverse flow but I would like to put my rib box on the opposite end of the fire box. Could I accomplish this by using 2 plates in the bottom of the main chamber so in effect the smoke and heat would be making a S shape before entering the rib...
Lots of trailer work done but still lots to do. Fire box is mounted now to try to light a fire in the tank to try to burn the paint off it. It is really on there!
Well now I have the trailer, time to start putting everything together. So far I got the trailer for free the tank was free, I have a friend that is a fabricator so he built the rib box and the fire box for free. I only had to buy a couple sheets of 3/16 plate. Total so far is 260.00
That is one sweet rig, I'm not quite going that big but I'm trying to put a nice stainless counter with a sink and hot and cold running water. I'm hoping to be mounting the main chamber on to the trailer this week. I'll post more pics when I do. Now you got me thinking I should have went tandem...
That is a 120 gallon propane tank which is .159 thick. The rib box is 48x20x20 and the fire box is 24x24 both are .187 thick. I doubled up the top of the firebox and the rib box will sit on it so that will be very thick. Hoping to conserve wood a little better. More pics to come. The upcoming...
I was thinking of doing something like that but I was worried that the heat from the firebox would be too much and I wanted to use the top of the fire box for warming stuff and some cooking. maybe I'll have to rethink this one. Thanks for the input and I look forward to others help.
As I'm drawing it up I was wondering about that. I was planning on having a stack on both with a dampner between the main chamber and the rib box. I was hoping that I could control it enough wtih that. Am I thinking wrong? Any input would be great, as I said this is my first wood burner, I've...
I'm trying to get my smoker done in time for that. I have been smoking for a long time but have never been in a competition so I thought that would be a good first one. Even if the smoker isn't ready yet, I'll be there to try to learn all I can. See you all there!
Well I've wanted one for awhile and just couldn't see paying the money, for one so here goes. I got a 120 gallon propane tank given to me so I'm off to the races. This will have a 24"x24" firebox with a rib box on the other end. I'm making it a reverse flow design. I'm also incorporating a...
