Here is a pic of my current setup.
I tried some kind of aluminum tray that sat on top on top of the bars above the burner with chips. I have it 40 mins and still no smoke. Thats why I bought larger pieces of wood.
Would not having a vent on top cause any problems.
Here is a pic of what I am using as a burner. The problem is that I can't get my wood to burn properly. It just.burns a few holes in the wood. I used tried putting a tray on it and use wood chips but that didn't work either. Please help.
I was planning on a wooden one first lined with foil. But then thought I might as well build a metal one so it will last.
Im not sure on the size but I was thinking on 3 shelves and some steel rods up top so I can hang as-well.
Any size suggestions?
I'm planning on building a smoker from steel and using a gas burner.
Could anyone please give advice on how thick the steel should be and what paint I need for inside and out? It will be outside.
