I started off at a moderate temperature to get some smoke, then turned it up to around 320 for the last hour.
There's a real learning curve that comes with this style of grilling which I'm looking forward to. I'm used to grilling by sight.
Still that's exactly what I signed up for so no...
So had the kids and their partners over on Sunday to check out our new grill and did my first chicken cook.
Really tasty, reasonably moist but big fail on the crispy skin front. (Work still to do)

Done initial burn off all went well except the internal conductors from the power cord are catching on the fan blades.
Temporary fix was to move the power cord to a certain position and that stopped it from catching. Not really a permanent fix but will open it up and move the conductors out of...

I've done a fair bit of research online and have gone with the Louisiana LG900.
Should say that here in NZ we don't have the selection you have in North America but we do have cheaper and more expensive.

Any LG900 owners have advice, tip n tricks to keeping drippings off the diffuser given its round profile I'm guessing it's a bit more difficult than other grills with flat diffusers.
Would a simple cover of tin foil do the job?

Speaking to the dealer im going with he reckons the standard hopper should give me around 10hrs slow and low so hadn't intended getting the hopper extension.
BUT keen to hear you're thoughts..
