I have the GMG Jim Bowie (big brother to the Daniel Boone). Those lids may look flimsy but the are built tough. When I was putting it all together, it tipped over and fell on the lid. No damage except for a few scratches, which I just used some BBQ paint to cover them.
According to CookinPellets site, there is a dealer in Antioch.

We can see what he charges and then maybe do a drop or pickup. If a pick up is done, maybe we can meet somewhere to disperse the bags.
I have been using Bear Mountain from C&C as well. Many of the Ace Hardware's carry Traeger pellets, but aI am not sure of anywhere else.
I got my grill from a guy out of San Luis Obispo. He mainly sells GMG, CookinPellets and Lumberjack (http://www.cencalpelletoutlet.com/). The only downside...
Cool.
I try to get get down there at least a couple of times a year. I graduated from CSUMB and did some volunteer work in Monterey during my college days.
When I go there I try to hit up El Rancho Market in Marina, They have some marinated tri-tip that is the bomb and a carne asada burrito...
You can go the high tech route and do a gofundme account towards the Lang. Get people to donate to the cause of retiring the old smoker who has reach the end of the road. This way you are buying the Lang with no money out of your pocket.
Though the first smoke may have to be a cookout for...
Welcome to the forums.
Where in California are you? I am in the Stockton area.
I have a Jim Bowie, and the best I can say is to test various setups. It took about a day or so to get it dialed in. the best way is to put a temp probe on the left, one in the middle and then one more on the...
I just did a few frustrating smokers (a few curse words helped), including one that took until 9p when dinner was supposed to be at 4p. That convinced my wife to tell me to get a new smoker.
Welcome to the site.
I started off with a Chargriller offset smoker. Though it gave a great smokey flavor, that one in particular did not retain heat very well and I found myself having to add fuel every 45 mins to an hour. This got to be very frustrating after awhile
When it came to...
Unfortunately, the wifey does not like any Q, though I have tried to get her to just taste it on my times. So since most of the food going on it is just for me, at times it does not make sense to fire it up. She has a severe food phobia, but that is another story for a therapist's couch.
Owning a JB is nice, but I have three problems when it comes to knowing when I need to add pellets.
The current sensor sometimes reads a gap in the pellets as the hopper being empty, cause the alarm to go office accidentallyThe external alarm can be a bit noisy and i don't want to piss off the...
I have a JB and it took a few days to dial it in but this is how I have it setup. I average a +/- 10 degree swing from left to right with the center being dead on.
I have two angled deflectors and a flat one that goes directly over the fire pot. I have one angled deflector on each side of...
I have had a GMG Jim Bowie for a little more than two years. I keep it outside 100% under a GMG cover. Being in California, I have not had any issues with the pellets being stored in there. I hasve gone for 3 to 4 months between smokes sometimes and I have never had an issue firing it back...
I have been running Bear Mountain and Green Mountain. I have had very little ash with both and the perfect amount of smoke for my family.
I have tried Traeger, but was unimpressed by them. There are a few shops around me that swear by the Traeger pellets but when I go in there they tend to...
