    I believe they all use app's. The two you just mentioned use wifi which if setup correctly you could read temps while shopping or golfing... the cheaper versions strickly use Bluetooth to connect to the app and the range is shorted up.

    I'm not a pro but I think the exhaust is more important. Even with a good firebox that small exhaust won't pull heat through... I've not looked at the calculations but I'm guessing you need at least 5" diameter. You've done a good job building one with what you have available.

    I see your from Maryland there's a dealer near Upper Marlboro if they are stay an active dealer they might be cheaper to get pellets from them. I'm from Michigan and buy mine right from a dealer.

    I think you'll be happy with the amps tube I don't use my tube for nothing but cold smoking but it works great. The cookin pellets is all I use in mypellet smoker and love them... they will last you a life time if you're only using them in a tube.

    From the video it looks as though your firebox is awfully thin and the lid on the top is definitely thin with big gaps. As willie said your exhaust is really small and likely not to pull heat through.

    @Lisa B I'm Interested in your sealing bags. I have one question, I currently use food saver brand bags and my biggest use is sealing pulled pork to freeze and reheating it in simmering water before serving. Will these bags hold up for that use?
