Thanks ahumadora, Would running the two prbes so close touching each other, wouldnt that affect the reading of the probes? Also i was trying to think of a way to be able to move the probes out when not in use. Building on your idea i might use the threaded tube with probes run through them...- scot34

First i want to thank everyone here for all the good info being shared. I was debating between building a vertical or an offset reverse flow. I finally decided to go with the vertical due to low consumption of fuel, easier in maintaing the temp and minimum tending to the whole process. I will...- scot34

Howdy dave, Following your eg, If area under rf plate is 120 sqin and empty space area is 120 sqin , that means the rf plate will run half the length where it is sitting, leaving the other half empty. Wouldn't that be way too short? The smoker i am buildin is 60" lenght and 30" diameter, so...- scot34

howdy y'all, my first post on here and want to thank you all for the great info. staying on the topic of the post how far should the rf plate extend. According to the calculators on here thats 0.004X volume, but also the area under the plate should be 0.004x volume, which means that this space...- scot34
