    "Minute" Steaks

Thanks. Why would someone do this? The price of the steaks in question are about half as cheap as a NYS.  Is there a benefit? Wouldn't the butcher make more money selling the loin as NYS instead of "minute" steaks? Maybe I don't understand completely.

    "Minute" Steaks

That's correct, but it is by no means a NY strip steak. It looks like it's maybe end pieces or something. I have some NYS steaks in the freezer and they look nothing like the "minute" steaks or the steaks in question.  They're about 4-6 oz each.  I will call Lobels, since what they have is...

Shell roast is a NY strip. Just not sure where from a shell roast this cut is from.

^ anyone know anything about this "cut" or if this steak is worthy of grilling - or is there other uses for it?

    "Minute" Steaks

Was looking at these at a local supermarket, and was told it came from the shell roast - which is a NYS steak, correct? I don't usually buy stuff at a grocery store, but I am always on the lookout for saving money.  I was wondering if the shell roast can be cut different ways or the where...

best choice natural wood charcoal is made by royal oak found in the mid west and south

Not always is RO the best - but it's damn good.  I use a variety of lump depending on what I'm cooking.  Publix (RO) lump > red bag RO in my egg. Also, I get local branded, SUPER dense stuff makes for excellent smoking but terrible grilling.  Mali's > RO/Publix overall - as it's better for...

    Stubbs Charcoal?

Costco has it here - $14.95 for 30lbs or something. It's not 2-20lb bags, but it's close. It was $.51/lb which is what I pay for Stubbs.

    Stubbs Charcoal?

LOVE Stubbs for smoking or grilling. But I use a ceramic cooker. I don't always use Stubbs, I am an avid fan of lump as well. But when I am in a pinch (ie buy some expensive meat one week) I'll use Stubbs because it's cheaper and is pretty good.  For smoking - Stubbs > Comp > Kingsford reg For...

    Prime Rib Roast Q's

I probably could find USDA Prime, prime rib - but I have been getting USDA Prime, rib eyes for $7.99/lb. For about the same price as a Choice "prime" rib.  What would you do?
