Nobody knows? A 5" stack necked down to a 4" stack at the top. Would you calculate the lenght based on a 4" pipe, or a 5" pipe?
Or if nobody knows the answer to that, would it hurt to have a 5" stack that is about 150% of the lenght the calculator says? Maybe just make some way to just choke...
Ok... another question... Got all of my plate and pipe for the stack, but all the guy had was a piece of 5" pipe for the stack. With the calculator above, that makes the stack about 24" tall. I want it taller than that..... if I were to put like a 5 to 4 reducer on the top of it, would I...
Ya... got prices from them today... for a piece 21x80 for the plate in the bottom, and four 24" circles, it was 275.00. Going to check a couple other places in the next few days.

Thanks!

Ok... so smoker is 64.5" long and firebox is 21.5" long. My sq" opening connecting the 2 is 78sq". So on a 24" pipe, I can take the....
width of the steel plate x height off the bottom of the pipe x .4 = area of opening... I will have to do some experimenting on that one to see what it will...
Hi there everyone. I am from Mississippi, and am getting ready to start my first Reverse Flow build. Just picked up some 24" pipe today, and found this site looking for info on how to build the thing. Glad I found SMF. Looks like more info than anyone could digest in a lifetime. Is anyone...
I picked up a piece of 24" pipe today that I found on Craigslist that is 86" long. Pipe is 3/8" thick. I plan to use it for the firebox as well. I have a few questions to get me started. I will be posting pics as I go.

Where...
