Mine's 1/4" and it works great. I would not go thinner than 3/16". Thicker would not hurt anything other than weight if you had some already. I did not. I bought 2 quarts of the gray high temp paint from KBS and a gallon of the MF red from Tractor Supply. I sprayed it all with a spray gun. I have noticed that if the pics on my phone sideways they will not load here for some reason, so I just make sure I take them all with the phone upright...- rasimmo

On my phone it is on mobile. On this desktop, of course, it is on desktop. I usually do most of this from my phone and have not tried to post pics from a desktop in a while. I painted the rest of the trailer Massey Ferguson red. I took these pics just before dark so it looks orange. I finished putting everything together this evening. I did not get any pics before dark. I will get some tomorrow.- rasimmo

Starting a build and have a few questions (pictures Added)(Q View now added)
I would not worry about burning it out. There is usually a real light coat of rust preventative on new steel, but it will be mostly gone by the time you finish with all the welding. Just wash it out when your done.- rasimmo

I got the paint from KBS Coatings. It's a little expensive, but good for 1500 deg continuous. It is charcoal gray metallic. We'll see how it holds up. Here is the first coat. While I am waiting the 8 hours to put on the second coat I am putting urethane on the boards for the deck. Some...- rasimmo

I feel your pain. I started mine about the same time as yours and said I wanted it done by Thanksgiving. looks like I am going to be cutting that close. This looks great and all that planning and work will pay off in the end I am sure.- rasimmo
