SmokinWelders First Smoker Ever!!!! 250 gallon/trailer build

I know your excited, but you have to be patient to be safe.I ave seen first hand the damage an exploding tank can do. Not a pretty sight. As stated by a couple others, use a weed burner, turkey fryer burner, gas grill, anything to use up any product left inside. Then unhook the burner, open the...

Wild Wild West III Lake Elsinore

I snapped a couple with the cell phone, nothing exciting though. It was a small turnout as far as the public attendance goes.

Wild Wild West III Lake Elsinore

I just wanted to stop in and thank Abel for inviting me to come assist in the Judges tent. It was an awesome and educational experience both both my wife and I. The KCBS reps and Judges were very informative and I got a feel for what Judges look for, what turn in boxes should look like, the...

My first smoked Turkey, Q-view will come

Something must of went terribly wrong with the Turkey. As usual, we had quite a few leftovers. Today I look in the ice box and there is no Turkey left. This had never happened before!!! I don't know if we got burgled, the leftovers flew the coop, or what. Anyone ever had this happen so soon...

Brinkmann Smoke N Pit low temps, too much charcoal

I just found this thread and thought I would chime in here. I received this same Brinkman as a gift almost a year ago to replace my Chargriller that was involved in a horrible accident. Now I haven't allowed so much as a briquett of charoal within 40 feet of it, strictly a stick burner, so my...

Last minute Baby Back ribs w/Q-vue

Some mighty tasty looking ribs there. I miss my chargriller, I think mostly because it was the one I learned to smoke on. I wanna know more about that home made stoker, like how to make one myself.

Thanks LGHT, I will be there for sure the 31st and most likely the 1st. Look forward to meeting you. Any other So Cal'ers coming, look for the 6'3 long hair wearing a blue ball cap with "Rotary" in red, that'll be me. Hope to see a lot of fellow Q'ers there!

    Hello Everyone!

Hi Ammocan, and welcome to SMF. Glad you found it as there is a wealth of info here. I can't help you with the electric, but I can say go get a couple of digital temp probes. One for the meat temp and one for the cook chamber temp to help you meet your target. There are a lot of tried and true...

I would love to lend a hand in the tent! I assume I should contact Henry about that since he is usually the KCBS organizer for our area?

My first smoked Turkey, Q-view will come

I fretted for nothing. Despite a soft skin from keeping warm in the over, the meat was melt in your mouth juicy and a big hit. Carved nice and clean.
