Smoking away the cabin fever....brisket style

Here's the up close pic.  You can actually see from this one where I jammed my banjo burner from my turkey fryer in there to compensate for the stuck regulator on the factory burner. I had the hose runnin out the door for 15 hours.  Talk about lack of door seal.   I have actually been thinking...

Smoking away the cabin fever....brisket style

THanks everyone.  I was glad everything came out ok.  THis is a test run of the new supplier for my relly huge Memorial Day BBQ.  I think I am going to stick with this guy.  I never used to trim the brisket at all, but I have been watching tons of videos over the winter....it drove me nuts until...

Smoking away the cabin fever....brisket style

SO I couldn't wait any more.  Got myself a brisket and fired up the smoker.  After spending a bit more for the meat to try out the new butcher, trimming and rubbing it, I ran into a bit of a problem.....regulator crapped out on me.  So I was left without enough heat on a cold morning at 4 am. ...

Reverse flow concrete block smoker build

I am in a rented house now, so I wasn't planning on using mortar and facing it at all.  My intention is to have the mats so that when I do buy a house I can permanently install it and add some natural stone to make it look a little better.  I definitely agree with the thicker steel for the RF...

Reverse flow concrete block smoker build

It's his 60th anc I'm sort of tying it into my big Memorial Day BBQ that I have each year.  I have really wanted to do a pig for a log time and have the means to do it more often.  I figure that If I can get this worked out then I'll be able to do a hog for more events instead of just bugers for...

Reverse flow concrete block smoker build

Hi everyone!  First time poster long time reader.  I am trying to cook a whole hog for my dad's b-day this year here in Brooklyn.  I cant bury anything (which I would really love to) since most of the ground here is toxic).    I have seen some of these really cool and impressive builds to do...
