I have the same smoker i sealed my doors with hi temp.silicone and gasket works great. I made a cover plate for my firebox bent it about 35-40deg.made a tuneing plate from threesixtenths steel cut it the width of the smoking chamber at the height i wanted it from the top grate just layed it in...- caseydix1
