Finally got around to smoking Dutch's bean recipe. Everything said about them was realized when they were tasted. Fantastic!! I see lots more of them in the future.
Tried this self cleaning oven method with the wire brush afterwards and have made several rusted and dirty skillets and a Dutch oven look like new. Be sure to wash them well with soap and hot water afterwards then re-season.

Spent 22 years installing and testing various weapon systems and radar on newly constructed navy ships.(Northrop Grumman Ship Systems). About eight years ago I decided to try something different and transferred to the fire dept. in the shipyard. Been a fireman ever since and love it. One day...
I like Jeff's so much I haven't tried any others yet. Guess I should. Jeff's is sooooooo good! Made it by the recipe and didn't vary from it. Had many compliments on it too.
Which brand of food sealer do you prefer? I owned a Foodsaver in the past but it didn't last long. I need to buy another and thought I'd ask your opinion?
Thanks
Did a couple last week with Jimmy Dean sage. Rolled up a Pablano pepper, roasted, peeled and stuffed with Velveeta cheese in them. Covered with Jeff's Rub. Turned out really good! If you use Velveeta seal up the sausage good or the cheese will run out.
Owned Poulan and Craftsman. Worked on them constantly. Bought a Stihl after Hurricane Katrina to clean up the mess and have had no problems. I like it because it starts with a few pulls. The Poulan would wear me out at times trying to start it.
The Italian sammies sound too good to pass up. Will get started on injecting in the AM. Thanks for all the input. Gonna have to slow down on all this smokin'. Startin' to gain weight. But it's sooooo good!
Have a bottom round roast to cook. Can it be used for pulled beef or is it best to slice it? If sliced is best can I stop it at 160 degrees internal temp so it will be medium. Should it be low and slow?
Thanks for your advice.
