I myself have a Green Mountain Daniel Boone that I use constantly. it's a great grill and while I love it I am going to upgrade and after extensive research and shopping I am set on a Yoder YS 640. they just seem like the best grill with the most features. The thing that impressed me about them...
I I think I would go 1/2 on the fire box and 1/4 on the rest. I think I would also go reverse flow, that would help stabilize the temperature in cold weather
Hi Bear ! Made enough to feed 30 people this time ! A lot of smiling faces and I got a lot of pats on the back ! I seasoned it Friday night after the bar closed at 2 a.m. and smoked it Sunday morning starting at 9. I think it was even better than the last time ! Thanks again :-)

LoL the bar next door made prime rib last weekend and from what I heard it was like eating shoe leather.... they asked me for my recipe :-) it's just the right amount of tasty for Iowa !!!

I will be smoking my first prime rib next week and I am definitely using this method !!! I will use Dimitris bloody Mary seasoning instead of worchestershire sauce. Can't wait !!!
Hi, if you are on Facebook I would go to Green Mountain Grills corporate. And ask them. They are very helpful and proud of all the people using their grills in competition !
I live in Iowa, have been smoking food for 15 years or so. Currently I am using a Green Mountain pellet grill, but I have had propane/charcoal, stick burners, and a old refrigerator with a Bradley smoke generator in the past. Looks like there is a ton of info on here !!!!!
