    Not Enough Smoke Taste

I didn't bash the unit, I bashed the complete lack of customer service around a safety issue. If they were to reply that I needed to look for "....." and that I would have to pay for the parts since I wasn't the original owner I'd be okay with that. What I don't appreciate is a safety issue that...

    Not Enough Smoke Taste

Are you adding more wood or just relying on the first loading of chips? I cooked a brisket in mine and ended up running around taking care of things for family for most of the day. I only added the first load of chips and had very little smoke flavor. The meat was cooked well, but suffered from...

    Masterbuilt Good News MES

I'll try calling, but it is my right to "bash" them if I feel that they haven't shown any effort. So far, it has been like dealing with Thermaltake (computer stuff.) I think that if they can't even acknowledge my issue, I have every right to express my displeasure (no matter how severe.) For...

This would make a killer smoker

My wife already told me I can't have them, but there's a guy in Tucson with a pair of WWII belly tanks for $150. 7-8 ft long and about 3 ft around. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/pts/746344418.html If I really want to build the fire pit in the back yard, I can't push this any further.

    Masterbuilt Good News MES

That is the opposite of what I've seen from them. I've e-mailed Masterbuilt 3 times and haven't gotten a single response. I wouldn't think once, never mind twice about getting another of their products and wouldn't hesitate to anyone else that they steer clear of Masterbuilt. Just my 2 cents.....

GOSM Big Block for $35.00 - Hooray Craigslist

I'll skip messing around with semantics. The happier she is the more likely she'll object to me acquiring another family member. Now, I need to refinish my pair of Oklahoma Joe's fraternal twins. Nevermind that, babybacks are $1.99/lb at two of our local grocery stores this week. There's meat...

GOSM Big Block for $35.00 - Hooray Craigslist

This was after finding a MES for $20 last week. I really need to stop checking Craigslist every day.... For the sake of marital harmony, that is.

GOSM Big Block for $35.00 - Hooray Craigslist

I just got back from an extended lunch. I had to drive 30 miles out to Queen Creek to pick up a "Propane Smoker" that I found on Craigslist for $35.00. When the guy took me out to his patio and it was a GOSM Big Block and a full tank of propane. I happily handed over the money and drove off...

    First smoke..

You might try pulling them out at 135-140. They'll still be quite moist. Looks pretty good, though.

    Coca Cola? (or Pepsi?)

The only reason to buy Coke is to clean cast iron with. Dissolving the rust and such might actually improve the taste. If it goes into my body, it's Pepsi.

    Craigslist find

Yeah, but you got a warranty and can extend it further. I'll play with it tomorrow. It's a little dusty, but looks like it has only been used a couple of times.

    Craigslist find

I just got back from a 70 mile round trip to Ahwatukee. I picked up a plain-jane black MES for $20. This brings the total to 5. ECB,MES, Little Chief, Oklahoma Joe's NBS and an Oklahoma Joe's Vertical Roaster. It pays off to check Craigslist several times a day. I wish that my wife would...

    safety tip for propane users.

It makes a whole lot more sense to watch the stuff on Craigslist for evidence of use with anhydrous ammonia.

    GOSM Mod

Will the needle valve work with a Camp Chef burner? What about a turkey fryer burner? Thanks

And, did you know about this??

It's not true. The gas guage on our Ford Freestar has no triangle and has the handle on the passenger side. The fuel-filler door is on the driver's side.

IRS audit of a Rabbi PG-13

IRS AUDIT OF A RABBI The Internal Revenue sends their auditor (a nasty little man) to audit a synagogue. The auditor is doing all the checks, and then turns to the Rabbi and says, "I noticed that you buy a lot of candles." "Yes," answered the Rabbi. "Well, Rabbi, what do you do with the...

    Pecan

I get my pecan chunks by the bag at Sportsman's Warehouse and love it when I'm doing a brisket. The rest of the time, it's mainly mesquite and hickory. Ironwood when cooking for mother-in-law.

    new smoker advice

If you have a local Sportsman's Warehouse, you might go there and take a look at the Camp Chef Smoke Vault 24. For $40 more, it is 24 inches wide and solidly built. It will give you much more capacity.

    Famous Dave's BBQ Sauce

I like the Devil's Spit too, but nobody else in the house will touch it. It's not such a bad arrangement.

    Working on a Brisket, Q-view

You can ski and golf here in Mesa, Az in the same day, too. As long as your skiing is done on water. If you want to cold smoke food, you have to turn on the AC, though.
