the heat in peppers is primarily in the seeds and the membrane inside the pepper. Splitting them down the side and scooping out the seeds probably removed more of the membrane thus milder ABT's.
Welcome .............
How Cool! Keep trying to get my wife interested in smoking! (although she is very fond of the finished product so there is hope!)
When it was finally done, fell apart with just a fork. I let it rest for about 2-hours before I shredded it and my daughter had gone out and took the camera so I did not get any pics of the finished product. The whole family loved it! Nothing like that smoke taste.
Hey Everyone:
Here are some pics of my July 4th smoke. First ever Boston Butt for pulled pork. Also smoked some county ribs and a rack of babybacks. Kids said best I have done yet.
Special thanks to ERAIN who helped walk me through how to post pics on the SMF.
I got mine at Meijer's (like a Walmart) here in Indiana.
It is a hand held unit that uses special zip-lock bags (that you can reuse) that have a port to vacuum out the air. Check it out on Amazon.com. It worked great on the pulled pork that I kept in the refrigerator. Just not sure how it...
Has anyone tried the Reynolds Handi-Vac Vacuum Sealer? I got one the other day (< $10.00) to vacuum seal leftover pulled pork. The price sure was right. It worked great but not sure how it compares to a food saver or how well it holds food for long-term storage. Any thoughts!
