that is like my grill pro leave that box in while the smoker heats up with it right over the coals mine is about an inch above my coals and when I add smoke I just lift off the lid and drop a hand full of chips in it and put the lid back on. do not wet your chips as it cools the box off too much...

first coat of honey
they went in the smoker 4 hrs ago at 165 deg
