    Home built smoker idea thread

I've got my cabin smoker about 95% done...still weld on some lips for the doors and modify my coal basket a little. I was really trying to do this on the cheap. So far, not counting my time, I have zero dollars invested...my only expense thus far is about a dozen welding rods. Right...

    Who's your best friend?

We've got 3 pups. Mocha is a chocolate lab, Blondie is a lab/retriever mix and Ginni is a lab/shepherd mix. This is mocha, wading through our cove at the lake. Dogs in mirror are slobbery'er than they appear. Blondie, she my sweetie. :) Blondie and Mocha at full gallop. Our little girl...

    Home built smoker idea thread

Well...I started my build this week. I've got the frame welded together and the doors cut and hinged in the tanks. I used my old 20 gallon compressor tank and a 20# propane tank. The propane tank is a tad smaller than 1/3 (almost 6 gallons) than the compressor tank...once I get the two...

Who does the cooking at your house?

I would say it's about 50/50 at our house. We both have things we are better at cooking than the other so it works out. It really just depends on who has the time that evening...but over all it's even.

    English Arm Roast?

Ah, I was about 25* shy then. It was getting late and I didn't feel like adding more coals to the fire or firing up the oven since we've already turned off our AC, hopefully for the year (what an odd summer we've had in Ks.). Thanks...although I find that too be weird. I appreciate the info.

    English Arm Roast?

Well, I smoked up that arm roast today after work (I know, pics or it didn't happen)...cooked it at about 225-250 until it reached 160. Foiled it, poured on apple juice and put it back in the cooker until it hit 190. I toweled it for about 30 minutes, it hit almost 200. It was tender and...

    English Arm Roast?

My wife found an English Arm Roast for sale the other day...but I cannot find any info on it as to what cut of meat it is. It doesn't look like any English Roasts I've found pictures of online. Is it just a fancy name for a regular arm roast??

    Fudge

As far as recipes go, it's just the standard Hersheys recipe. 3 C sugar 2/3 C cocoa 1 1/2 C milk 1/2/ tsp salt 1/4 cup butter 1 tsp vanilla Bring sugar, cocoa, salt and milk to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Once it gets to a boil, stop stirring until soft ball stage is reached...

    Fudge

 I couldn't figure out a way to smoke it...so I'm just doing it the old school way...like my granny did. ...the thought did cross my mind though. Just turned the heat on, now for the waiting game for it to come to a boil. My little helper...always willing to lend a paw. I've got it...
